To me it often looks too shiny and polished, and things do not seem to move or weigh properly. Look at King Kong's hair next to actresses hair. The Two Towers scene as well, the far away view is graphics and to me it isn't? as powerful as a scene with real horses and terrain. Most of the CGI in this video is a big part of the story so that is fine.

The Descent had a great premise, excellent suspense, etc, but CGI once? again let's films like this down! The bats that fly out of the cave look like they've been? drawn onto the screen, then animated by a click of a mouse. Even Sam Raimi had this? problem with Drag Me? To Hell during the last scene where the disintegrating skull looks saliently fake. Evil Dead 1 and 2 & Carpenters "The Thing", all kick ass with make-up visceral effects: that's where this film flounders when it shouldn't. CGI sux

Avatar is the fakest looking CG film yet. Jurassic Park 1+2 and? Star Wars Episode I managed to look completely real with many of their effects, yet the biggest most advanced CG film now looks like a bad video game. It's only been going downhill. And it's because the early CG films had pro's working on them these days video game kids with no knowledge of real filmmaking are behind the computer screens.

Thus therefore there must be something right in regular imagery in film, because it has been proven to stand it's own in time. Until ofcourse, Lucas totally sold out to the CGI hysteria in the 1990's, hence completely lost his touch of originality and ingenuity he had some 20 years earlier. Too Bad. But I'm not worried, because I think filmmakers are slowly starting to realize this more and more. Just as bellbottoms were cool in 1974,? Or, as well as the bell bottoms pants from the 1970's, they all look comic and corny today. And the outdated CGI from 1990's already looks very fake and corny today. So the question really is, should CGI REALLY TAKE OVER GOOD'OL FILM??? Or should CGI technology be something for it self, and let film be film. The (1977) Star Wars still stands out today, 35 years later, without the 3D CGI, or (1968) Odyssey? in Space 2001, still stands out 44 years later.

4. Although people love animation (usually as humor), however, in real life, human subconscience relates with reality of an image,? not a realistic reproduction of that reality. Eventhough on the surface we might admire the progress of technology behind it, we subconsciously still prefer the realistic image of our reality. Reason CGI will never win over Real film imagery is, or better yet there are couple of reasons. 1.Computer Graphics evolves? constantly, and already CGI made a decade ago on for instance new Star Wars I-III (1998-2004) is already outdated. Looks video game like, fake, and even comic. 2.While the original footage from Star Wars Trilogy shot between 1976-82, or any classic films, still stands out. I think we call all agree that Godzilla in 1998 was crap. Also King Kong escapes in 1967 was crap. So the Japanese messed up King Kong, we messed up Godzilla, lets call it even and pray Toho makes a new Godzilla movie that will be epic. So everyone knows the Terminator you see here is not actually the T-800 model T-101. Its actually the prototype for that series called the T-RIPP that explains why his skin easily destroyed. Like in T-2 for instance? the T-800 gets a hit by MP5 from entire swat team and stills has skin on his face. Than in T-3 the T-X torches his face and its still there. I also wanted to mention the Terminator from 3 (Arny) is from a little more advance series called the T-850.

I saw there were a lot of questions, so i figured i'd try to help out. Vue is a 3D animation program designed for making landscapes and enviroments. (For example the rocky backgrounds on the canibal island in Pirates 2 were made with this.) It's got special features like landscaping tools, and ecosystem to make millions of plans & trees with a few mouseclicks. It's not the program in which you animate your T-rex? walking, but you can in- and export files and data between Vue and other programs.

A live action series could work, however it needs to stay true to the original TV series or it will alienate the fans faithful to it, i felt that happened with the 'live action' movie, and i really wished it otherwise. Gerry Anderson didn't want to get involved with it, Sylvia advised somewhat, but that was her choice, i mean TB2 looked like? a freakin steam iron for crying out loud, it was nothing short of sacrilege in my opinion! It's very well done, and well done on those who attempted this."but" that is the problem. Like most remakes it tries too hard to improve on something that was already right. It misses the point that the reason why the original is so good is because it "is" string puppets and watched with an attitude? "Strings! What strings?".
